Male matters
Over 6 million men in the UK have never cleaned their own toilet! A Spontex survey of 1,000 men nationwide has revealed just how reluctant British men are to put on their rubber gloves and start scrubbing.
- The survey highlights that 16-24 year olds are the worst offenders with a massive 33% leaving the dirty work to someone else
- A staggering 24% of men over the age of 45 claimed to have never set foot inside the bathroom with an intention to clean it
- Around the country, Londoners come out top when it comes to toilet hygiene: 64% of males in the capital claim to clean their toilet every week
- A staggering 32% of men in the South East had NEVER cleaned a toilet
Lynn Webster, Senior Cleaning Technician at the Spontex Men's Cleaning Academy, is not surprised: "I have been lecturing people on how to clean properly for over 15 years and it is always the men that don't have a clue."
She adds: "Most men have never been shown how to clean a toilet so once you address this you can help change a habit of a lifetime! Most men are just scared of getting their hands dirty!"
